Where Lightweight PVC Fabric Is Used

Lightweight fabric suits products where the priority is a light structure rather than maximum wear resistance:

Military tentsCovers, transport cases, and gear — including in khaki.
Light tent structuresTemporary canopies, seasonal covers, simplified frame shelters.
Covers and tarpaulinsFor equipment, machinery, furniture, and property that needs protection without extra fabric weight.
Children's and sports productsLightweight mats, covers, elements of play structures.

For structures under constant load or long-term outdoor use, consider a heavier grade — 650 or 900 g/m².

How 440 g/m² Differs From Other Densities

The difference between densities isn't about "better or worse" — it's a balance of weight and strength. The lightweight fabric is easier to cut and sew, puts less strain on the frame, and is easier to transport as a finished product. In wear resistance and mechanical strength, it falls short of 650 g/m² fabric — so for permanent structures or products under heavy load, we recommend that grade instead.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lightweight PVC Fabric

How is the lightweight fabric different from 650 g/m²?+
Lower weight and thickness — roughly 440 g versus 630-650 g per square metre. It's easier to cut and sew but falls short of heavier grades in wear resistance under constant load.
Is khaki in stock?+
Yes, khaki matte is one of the standard colours in this density, often chosen for military tents.
Can I order less than a full roll?+
Yes, we sell by the linear metre from 1 m.
What roll width and length are available?+
Width 1.5 or 3 m, length 50 or 60 m — depending on colour and batch.
Is this fabric suitable for a pickup bed cover?+
The 440 g/m² fabric can work for a light, removable cover. For a frame-mounted cover in constant use while driving, we more often recommend 650 g/m². The final choice depends on the structure, fastening, and how it's used.
